Senior Back End Heavy Drupal Developer

We are looking for a seasoned, hardworking, smart and overachieving Senior Back End Heavy Drupal Developer with extensive experience in Drupal designing, developing and scaling complex web applications. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for driving our business success by implementing advanced functionality on our Drupal-based website. The successful candidate will have a proven record in high-quality back end development and strong technical leadership.

This is a one-two month contract, and candidates should have experience with Platform.sh and Acquia.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance websites within Drupal
• Create custom modules and themes based on detailed specifications
• Integrate third-party APIs
• Handle website performance and assist in scaling and optimizing
• Work closely with front-end developers and customers to ensure an effective, visually appealing and intuitive implementation
• Test functionality of websites to ensure smooth and efficient operation

Requirements/Skills

• A minimum of 5 years experience in back end heavy Drupal development
• Deep knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and the Drupal theme layer
• Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs
• Experience integrating open source and third-party applications into existing systems
• Solid understanding of AJAX, HTML, Javascript, and CSS
• Results-oriented, reliable, able to work under pressure
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to business users and other teams (design, QA)
• Ability to both collaborate with team members and to work independently
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
