One of Esteemed's partners is seeking a skilled IT Hardware Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp on all aspects of computer hardware, including installation and maintenance. They should be capable of performing system updates and troubleshooting hardware issues, as well as assisting employees with any technical challenges they may encounter. In addition to these technical skills, the technician should be able to communicate complex information in a simple, clear and concise manner to non-technical personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve process for lifecycle management of each hardware asset, covering usage, upgrades, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning.
  • Establish a process to maintain a stock of pre-imaged devices ready for departmental configurations.
  • Enhance barcoding for asset tracking, ensuring all hardware is logged and easily retrievable.
  • Establish effective storage room usage which aligns to asset tracking and management in toolset.
  • Ensure the process for appropriately disposing of or recycling hardware at the end of its lifecycle is fully documented, following environmental and organizational policies.
  • Develop detailed lifecycle management plans for hardware upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning schedules.
  • Create and perform regular audits on hardware assets to ensure inventory accuracy, identify underutilized assets or opportunities for reallocation, and address any discrepancies with corrective actions.
  • Enhance asset deployment and check-in processes

Requirements/Skills

  • Proven experience as a hardware technician
  • Knowledge of hardware technology and computer systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
