Sr Business Analyst

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Duration: 8+ Months
Work Arrangement: Hybrid or on-site (contractor's preference). Orientation will be on-site.

Residency Requirement: Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense.

Interview Process: An in-person or live video interview will be required as part of the review process.

Project Overview

This position will serve as a business analyst for the IRIS 2.0 project, which involves scoping and building a new custom highly automated case management system for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in the following areas:

  1. Documenting requirements
  2. Requirements gathering and analysis
  3. Technical writing and documentation
  4. Agile methodologies

Additional Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Analytical/problem-solving skills
    • MS Office Products (including 5+ years in Excel, Word, and Outlook)
    • Change management
    • Project management
    • IT Technologies – skills and concepts
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • User test, System test, and User Acceptance test plans

Preferred Skills

  1. Project Management
  2. User Test Plans
  3. Previous work experience with the State of Wisconsin or other government entities

Key Responsibilities

The Sr Business Analyst will be expected to:

  • Gather and analyze requirements for the new case management system
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders using Agile methodologies
  • Develop user test, system test, and user acceptance test plans
  • Contribute to project management activities
  • Facilitate change management processes
  • Utilize strong communication skills to interact with various team members and stakeholders

Qualified candidates should possess a strong background in business analysis, technical writing, and project management within the IT sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working on government projects and be comfortable in a dynamic, Agile environment.
